Lou Rupp - WILD SHEEP (F.N.A.W.S.) Magazine, Spring 2007, Page 121
During October and November of 2006 ISHA members Lou Rupp, Dave Wiens, Garth Hardy, and Dave Myrup enjoyed a successful hunt in Kyrgyzstan for mid-Asian Ibex and in Tajikistan for Marco Polo sheep with Vladimir Koshcheev of Profi Hunt, Ltd. The initial phase of the trip was devoted to hunting the mid-Asian Ibex in Kyrgyzstan where a total of five Ibex were taken in the 39"-45" range. Garth Hardy was the lucky hunter who scored on a second Ibex. There were many animals seen in the area and this portion of the hunt provided an opportunity for the hunters to start becoming acclimated to higher altitudes in preparation for the second phase of the trip. The hunt was conducted out of two camps, one with Lou Rupp and Dave Wiens, and the second with
Dave Myrup and Garth Hardy. Upon completion of the hunt, the group returned to Bishkek in preparation for the flight to Osh, Kyrgyzstan. Osh, a city with a 3,000 year history, is approximately 370 miles south of Bshkek and is located 150 miles from the Tajikistan border. The group hunted out of the famous hot springs cam p and all hunters were successful taking sheep in the 55"- 58" range with beautiful winter coats. Profi Hunt and Vladimir left no stones unturned in ensuring a very successful hunt and a very enjoyable experience. In short, a great hunt with great people.
