The Chukotka Moose is the largest antlered animal in the world. Our Chukotka Moose hunting takes place mainly in the Koryak region and in the central part of the Kamchatka Peninsula. Moose immense animal, usually larger than you would expect. Antler spreads vary considerably. The average moose has a spread of 61 inches / 155 cm, although each year a few of our hunters take moose of 70-72 inches / 178-183 cm in spread. The weight of such antlers can be up to 100 pounds / 55 kg.

How to get there As Magadan Airlines are not flying to Anchorage any more, the only possibility to get to Petropavlovsk is to fly via Moscow. You will be met by our English-speaking representative at the airport of your arrival and assisted through the customs. Then we take you to the hotel, or transfer to the internal airport for your flight Moscow-Petropavlovsk. It is a non-stop 9 hour flight. In Petropavlovsk you will be met at the airport and then transferred to the hunting camp.
Hunting season The season is from the 1st of September to the 15th of January with the best time from the 20th of September to the 15th of October, and again from the 25th of November to 15th of December.
Hunting Moose are found from the lowest valley to tree-line in the high mountains. Generally we locate large bulls and then we take you to that area. The central part of the Kamchatka Peninsula is one of the few areas where horses can be used during moose hunt. In November/December all hunts are done on foot with transportation to the hunting area by snow mobiles. Once the fresh tracks are cut, hunter will follow the moose on foot or skies.
Base Camps In Koryak Region we accommodate the hunters in tented camps; in the Central part of Kamchatka – it can be tents or cabins. Camps are quipped with portable cots and stoves. Electric generator is used to provide lighting and charging.
Weather During daylight hours the temperature in September is from 50-55 F/ 10 to 15 C and during night time from 23 up to 40 F / -5 to 5 C. Expect hard frost in the morning and variable weather during the day. Snow and rain are also possible. In November, December the temperature during daylight hours is from -4 to 5 F / - 20 to 15 C and during nighttime from - 15 F to - 8 F / - 25 to -20 C.
Itinerary for hunting in the Koryak Region:
Day 1 Arrival in Moscow, flight to Petropavlovsk.
Day 2 Arrival in Petropavlovsk, transfer to Esso by car
Day 3 Arrival to Esso, check at the hotel, rest, adjust to the time change
Day 4 Helicopter transfer to the hunting area
Day 5 –12 8 day hunt
Day 13 Flight back to Esso, overnight
Day 14 Transfer to Petropavlovsk, overnight
Day 15 Departure from Petropavlovsk, arrival to Moscow

for hunting  in the Central Kamchatka:
Day 1 arrival in Petropavlovsk, transfer by car and then by snowmobile to the camp
Day 2-11 10 day hunt
Day 12 Back to  Petropavlovsk, check into hotel
Day 13 Departure
