OTHER Language PDF - French, German

Azerbaijan has the best areas and the best chance for high quality trophies of Dagestan Tur. Tur population is very strong there. It is not uncommon for hunters to see up to 150 rams a day. Average trophy is 33”-35” with some trophies up to 40” taken. Tur hunting is very challenging and it is one of the most demanding trophies. Dagestan Tur counts both towards the Ovis and Capra World Slams.

How to get there You can fly to Baku via Frankfurt, Zurich or Istanbul. Our crew will meet you and assist through the customs. You will be taken to hotel for overnight. Next morning you travel by van, and then proceed on horse back to camp.
Hunting season The season is from June 10 to November 30. The optimal period is from July to September.
Hunting Hunting is done on foot with option of horseback in the beginning and at the end of the hunting season. It is a spot and stalk hunting with a big portion of hiking. Driven hunts can be done if necessary. Spike camps are used intensively in order to avoid the most difficult part of vertical hiking. They are set up at 8,500 - 9,000 feet / 2,700-3,000 m. It often happens that you spot rams right from a spike camp.
Base Camps Base camps are comfortable wooden lodges with beds and shower located at 5,700 feet / 1,900 m. Skilled stuff makes you feel comfortable.
Weather Weather is normally sunny with occasional showers and fog. Daytime highs in June August are 77-80 F/ 22-25 C, with lows of 50-57 F / 10-15C. September – October daytime temperatures are 50-59 F /10-15 C with 15-23 F /-8 -5 C at nights.
