Kuban (Western) Tur hunting in Russia

OTHER Language PDF - French, German

Kuban Tur is a highly desirable trophy. Only comparatively small part of Caucasus Mountains holds population of Kuban Tur. Hunting is a great challenging experience. Many hunters in the past got back home without seeing a single ram. We changed the situation completely. Last two years our clients have 100 % opportunity on Kuban Tur with 80 % success.

This trip can also be nicely combined with Caucasian Chamois hunt. Kuban Tur counts both towards the Ovis and Capra World Slams, and Chamois counts towards the Capra World Slam.

How to get there You arrive to Moscow International Airport; our crew meets you there, assists through the customs and takes to hotel. Next morning you fly to Mineralnyye Vody. Flight from Moscow to Mineralnyye Vody lasts around two hours.
Hunting season The season is from August 1 to November 10 with the optimal period from September 1 to October 15.
Hunting You will be surprised but we provide horse back hunting for Kuban Tur. Expect extensive horseback riding, considerable walking and hiking. Some knowledge and experience with horses and riding is a must. During the day you may travel the upper edges of the mountains, glassing the hillsides and feeding areas. A temporary tented camp is set up with the specific goal of hunting a particular animal or area. Rams are generally located in very remote country at 9,000 feet / 3,000 m. Once the trophy is spotted you complete your stalk on foot. Physical condition is an important factor for stalking during the hunt.
Base Camps You will be accommodated in tented camps at 5,100 feet / 2,700 m. We use big comfortable tents with cots. Electric generator is used to provide lighting and charging. Shower is available.
Weather Weather is quite unpredictable. Day and night temperatures have wide amplitude due to high altitude and surrounding glaciers. Afternoon fog is usual. August, mid-September: daytime highs are 77-80 F/ 22-25 C, with lows of 35-40 F/ 3-10 C. In mid-September, October daytime temperatures are 50-59F/10-15 C with 15-23 F / -8-5 C at night. Snow can be expected at the tops in first decade of September.
